Description

Heart Nebula
The Heart Nebula (also known as the Running dog nebula), IC 1805, Sharpless 2-190,  is 7500 light years away from the Earth and is located in the Perseus Arm of the Milky Way. It was discovered by William Herschel on 3 November 1787. The full nebula spans almost 2 degrees in the sky, covering an area four times that of the diameter of the full moon. Its estimated cross-size is 200 light years.

The picture is a pure HOO, recorded on 4,6,7, 16 and 17 October 2022 from my backyard in Vienna. On the nights of 16 and 17 moonlight was strong and pretty close to the target.

I have taken a picture of the core of the nebula with a longer focal, visible here.

Planetary Nebula WeBo1 (PN G135.6+01.0)
At hour 9 in the image is visible a pretty large bluish ellipses, corresponding the planetary nebula WeBo1, discovered by Ronald F. Webbink and Howard E. Bond. Its distance is approximately 5200 light-years. It is an interesting object with some structure visible, that could be a target for longer focals. A study abstract is available here.
