Description

Way down south (-40 degrees) in the constellation Centaurus lies Cometary Globule 12. This is another rarely imaged southern target. It’s almost redundant to call it a faint molecular cloud, but it is. Thankfully, the exceedingly dark skies of Chile don’t have any light pollution to compete with the few photons coming from CG12. I think it looks very similar to the Dark Shark in Cepheus. The reflection nebula at the head is NGC5367 and the bright little background galaxy is ESO 325-42.
