Description

Sunspots (20230710) - the show goes on

Very interesting how the prominently eye-catching active region AR13363 (bottom left) has developed within one day: The clear light bridge of the previous day has turned into a hairline light line, to the east (right) of it flanked by several approaches of further light bridges - view full size.

Where yesterday the 'apple stalk' protruded from the top of the penumbra, today two circular structures that are bright on the inside can be seen. They look like raindrops on a flat pane or like air bubbles. I'd be very interested to know what's up with that ... I haven't been able to find anything about it yet.

Anyone?

I particularly like the four rows of chaotic clusters of spots on the right (eastern) side, two on the northern and two on the southern hemisphere. All are roughly aligned along similar axes. The size and expression of their associated spots is also very interesting and in a way similar to the other series.
