Description

Combination of RGB and NB (Optolong l-eXtreme) is really stunning. I can get at most 2.5 hours in a night given houses and altitude but plan to get as much as I can while it's visible. Focusing on more NB, might circle back for RGB again since I've tuned a few things with my gear.

Description: Stunning what narrowband can bring to an image like this! I've added 1 night each of RGB and NB (new l-eXtreme filter). I'm floored, happy, and looking forward to more data. Hope to get another 2.5 hours of NB tonight!

C

Description: Added 2.5 hrs of NB and changed a huge amount of my processing. Didn't run through drizzle integration, so I'll give it another go sometime.. very happy with how it's progressing!

Description: Used 2x DrizzleIntegration and adjusted the Oiii boost to use a clipped mask from the Oiii itself. Last time was the l-eXtreme B channel. And I didn't clip quite as much, so there's a bit more color in the wings. Thought I was not going to succeed with decon but managed to get it working after creating a custom bg and star masks. I do like the EZ suite version for comparing before and the ease of editing the star mask.. had one star escape my mask.

Description: Major changes in linear processing. Used two passes of decon, one weak one for the larger stars to tighten them up and a stronger one for the nebula. Increased denoise (MLT) in linear and tweaked when and how pretty much all my masks are created and when they're used. It's getting complicated but VERY happy wit this. Only thing bothering me is the halo around stars. Might get some shorter sub RGB to play with sometime to swap out the 60s RGB I already have.

Description: Taking some more feedback, didn't drizzle this time. It makes processing easier and I don't get as many artifacts in deconvolution, star reduction, and noise reduction. Going with less strength on denoise (TGVD) in non-linear and it's better I feel. Less crazy wave feeling, though you can see some mottling. It's legit with my data set as far as I can tell.

Description: Little more messing around with colors using a mask built from the O3 data..

Description: Over 4 months since I looked at this data and I've learned a lot... Didn't rebuilt new masters even though that could be improved with NSG and per-channel processing in the latest WBPP.

Description: Tried some new things and am sort of OK with it.. RGB for stars, added with a mask created from the extracted HOO stars so it didn't blow them out. Processing wasn't too mindful of the background but it's OK. Resulted in a reasonably OK contrast. Used a mask from O3 to color the core and some bits of the wings.
