Description

A beautiful, interesting object, and rather difficult to acquire and process. I needed several nights, short as they are this time of the year, in order to catch that elusive signal in between all the noise.

It might be a supernova remnant, although it has not been yet confirmed upon studies.

It actually resembles a dragon, which makes me think of the dragon in The Neverending Story.
I hope I can add some more data in the future.

This photo consists of 161 5-minute exposures using a dual narrowband filter (L-Enhance) on a 203/1625 Ritchey-Chrétien telescope, adding a total of 13-ish hours.

Processing involved deconvolution, generalized hyperbolic stretch and playing with the green curve to get the golden/bronze hues.
