Description

The Sculptor Galaxy imaged from my backyard, large thanks to a telegizmos 365 cover. First imaged around 1/10/22 through to 03/12/22 over about 18 nights.
My scope is around 1484mm focal length and repeatably decent guiding has been difficult.
There were varying amounts of moon over the imaging period although I tend to stop shooting closer to a full moon.

The Sculptor Galaxy was a bit tricky to get lots of time on due to the shorter nights but I think 31 hours was a good effort.

This is the first time i've used BlurXTerminator plugin for PI, I used sharpen stars @ 0.25  and sharpen nonstellar @ 0.3. The results worked quite well and saved a massive amount of time and effort investment that Deconvolution involves.

I also used two rounds of NoiseXTerminator plugin, once for the Lum master in it's linear stage and another on the LRGB towards the end of processing.

Apart from that I've gone to massive efforts to optimise my optics and mount setup to squeeze as much performance as I can out of it before the editing stage.

Typical guiding RMS ranged around 0.4"-0.5"RMS with subs exceeding 1"RMS excluded. A dozen or so subs were able to be captured below 0.3"RMS ranging down. Not too bad for a portable EQ6-r setup.
