Description

Continuing with my exploration of the obscure nebula of the Southern skies, this is Van den Bergh 73 parts A, B, C. it was originally catalogued as a reflection nebula. This image was shot with the Optonlong L-eXtreme filter, it revealed the HII regions, not the reflection nebula. The notes in the Atlas of Galactic Nebula describe the object as a Dark cloud similar to a Cometary Globule with some bright reflection nebula arranged along the rim of the dust cloud.
