Description

My attempt at capturing totality.  For this, I used my Canon 5DSR with a zoom lens set at 135mm, F8 and shutter speed at 1/125.   The "diamond ring" image was shot with the same parameters.  My goal was to sit back, relax, take in the event visually.  My  range of photos is limited as I resisted the temptation to adjust F-stops, shutter speeds and framing.  The cool thing about this whole experience was the weather.   It was heavily overcast right up until about a quarter of partiality and then cleared, giving us clear skies around the sun for the duration of the eclipse. The clouds returned just before the end of partiality and became completely overcast with thunderstorms arriving 2 hours later.
