Description

Data from the CDK24 at Telescope Live. Not an object I can photograph from the northern hemisphere, so I thought I'd take advantage of the largest amateur scopes Chile has to offer. The object was labelled as NGC 1531 in the Telescope Live interface, but I learned after processing it that NGC 1531 is the dwarf galaxy next to what is actually NGC 1532 (naturally). There was 11 hours of exposure available, but I accidentally only used about 7h 30mins of it when downloading the files (whoops). I suspect noise would have been easier to get rid of of if I actually paid any attention. I don't really feel like going back and reintegrating everything, so I'll leave it for another day. I used NormalizeScaleGradient and Mure Denoise in Pixinsight for the first time, which ended up being pretty easy, easier than going through Jon Rista's method at least. I'm not totally satisfied with this image (background too muddy and left a noticeable satellite trail that made it through barely), so at some point I'll give this another go.
