Description

If someone tells you that an EQ5 Mount with a maximum payload of 13kgs for visual astronomy, can't take a Celestron C8 with about 8,5kgs of imaging hardware, tell that person that an azorean guy actually pull it off! This is the Whirlpool galaxy shooted only about two hours, with 600s files, yes you heard it: 10min of exposures at 1280mm of focal lenght, without any light pollution or narrowband filters in a RGB sensor with an guiding error on PHD2 oscillating between 0,60" and 0,90" RMS.
Regarding the Whirlpool galaxy, she doesn't need introductions! Wikipedia and Google are your friends.

RGB (CFA + Camera's UV/IR Cut filter) 600s x 11 F/6.3 - Gain 391 - Bin 1x1 - Offset 30 - Focal Lengh 1280mm

20 Dark Frames + 30 Flats Frames + 30 Dark Flat Frames

The Moon was in the Waning Crescent phase at 36.9% of ilumination, in a Bortle scale of 4 (21.63 Mag/Arc.Sec)
