Description

Typical summer down under on the mid east coast. I’ve only managed 4 to 6 hours of clear sky in the past 41 days ( there have been a few nights with clear patches but not worth imaging especially with a mono rig )
The days have been hot , clear and sunny but unfortunately cloud moves in from the south west in the afternoon just before dusk. This weather pattern has been relentless.
Not much else to do regarding Astrophotography so decided to hone my processing skills. Also captured a new Dark Library as well.
Here’s a re process of my last capture of NGC 2070 Tarantula Nebula using Startools V1.8
In the colour module I used an SHO preset with the following mapping and adjust Green and Blue bias accordingly SHOHS  100Oiii, 70Ha +30 Oiii , 40Sii + 60Ha

This produced a spectacular SHO version with a “Fire on Ice”  effect . I called it my “Tarantula on Fire”

Same acquisition and capture details as previous

Absolutely no scientific value with this image in regards to colour.False colour palette is not everyone’s thing , however it does provide a bit of “Wow factor”.

Thanks for looking
