Description

NGC 7083 is a 11.2 magnitude Flocculent Spiral Galaxy sitting in the southern constellation of Indus. It is 108 million light years from our solar system and well below the horizon from most of the northern hemisphere.  It's actually a very pretty galaxy and next season I'll image it with a larger aperture and get more luminance data.

In apparent size, NGC 7083 is quite small, roughly 3.6 x 2.0 arcminutes.  In physical size it is very close in size to the Milky Way at around 100,000 light years.

Processing

It has been a revelation to discover PixInsight's PhotometricColorCalibration, which greatly simplified balancing the RGB channels — so the colors, apart from saturation boost, are natural and seem natural.
