Description

Shot over 6 weeks during the shortest nights of the year, this target ended up being the July Challenge object on CloudyNights--lucky me to get a jump on it with so little darkness to work with.

I had an opportunity to have a personalized learning exchange with Adam Block, trying to save some Sii data using his Selective Rejection technique that just wasn't working as expected. We/he came up with an explanation and a solution. He said he might update his material on this really useful process to include the issue I found and he resolved.  A tip of the hat to Adam.

I also found that my wallet will be a bit lighter, as using a trial version of StarXterminator gave a far superior result to using StarNet2 on this data. I will have all three of Russell's Xs in my tool kit now. I find them simply amazing tools.

I am never quite sure how hard to push stretching and colours in narrowband images. Hope I haven't crossed any lines here, but I kind of like it the way it is. Usually I start a bit more subdued in brightness and saturation and gradually build it up. Might have gone a bit much on this? I do like using RGB stars, but again it is a taste-thing about how much/many/prominent in terms of brightness, size and saturation. I haven't done enough of this to have my preferences settled.

Description: balanced peak histograms a bit better (lessened G and B a bit--shows better alignment in PI HT than the histogram here) also a light touch of NXT
