Description

The Iris - A Nebula Full of PAHsPolycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons or PAHs are believed to be essential to the formation of life and were abundant in the primordial soup of early Earth. The Iris Nebula (NGC 7023) contains an unusually high concentration of these hydrocarbons and astronomers believe they may have evolved into the same complex molecules that led to the emergence of life on Earth. My picture is the result of two nights of data on Oct 3,4.
