Description

This is my first foray into short exposure and nothing better than M42 to get some experience.  I used 3 second exposures at gain 252 and the total time was cut short by clouds rolling in.  It was enough to get a really good look into the Trapezium area and how surprisingly colorful it is!

For processing so many short frames I turned to PI Fast Integration for the first time.  As part of the learning curve, I learned that you have to give it a debayered master frame in order for it to stack in color!  Took me some time before I figured that out, wasn't obvious at all, normally PI stacks on any master.  Drizzle 2x was applied as well.
