Description

Last night I had some time to image the Soul Nebula before the moon rose.  Used a Canon 200mm lens stopped down from 72mm to 52mm aperture with a stepdown ring, an L-Extreme filter, and my ZWO ASI533MC camera.  I had some trouble with PHD2 not finding enough star motion and I ended up just shutting down guiding and tracking only.  This happens from time to time when I'm pointing more or less northwards for some reason.  But I wasn't too worried about tracking only because my focal length was short.  But stars are slightly more elongated than I would have liked even though I kept subs to 1 minute and had a decent polar alignment.  Total imaging time was 155 minutes.  I stacked in Siril, extracting Ha and O-III and building an HOO image of the nebula.  It could be worse, overall I think its OK but not really fit for pixel peeping.
