Description

My initial attempts to start planetary imaging have been quite humbling. I am posting these for help to improve my captures as well as something to look back on in the future to compare my improvement.

I am using an ASI 290 MM with a filter wheel and firecapture. I am using a 2.5x 1.25 inch power mate. When I am capturing, firecapture says that my focal length is 5000 mm, by calculation with my 2350 mm scope and 2.5x it should be closer to 5,875 mm. I don't know if I need to add more back space to increase the clarity of the images.

I also don't know if combined the color channels in pixinsight is causing more blurring. I am using autostakkert2 for stacking and I am also channel aligning and sharpening in Registaxx.

Any advice is welcome.
