This image was taken over a week in early November 2023 with an ASI2600mm Pro through an Astro-Tech 80ED on an EQ6-R Pro mount.

The image comprises:

Ha: 223 x 180s
Ha: 43 x 300s
OIII: 172 x 180s
R: 10 x 60s
G: 10 x 60s
B: 10 x 60s

Total integration time was 23 hours and 50 minutes. The image was processed in Pixinsight and tweaked in Photoshop.

This is an extremely faint nebula in Auriga. Capturing even the faintest details required a full week of exposures and lots of integration time. Drawing the nebula out during processing was also challenging and I abandoned several processing attempts before obtaining a decent result.

I had initially tried this with the 127ED, but the FOV was too constrained. The 80ED offered a better view. Sh2-223 is nearby, but would likely require a similar amount of exposure time and thus will have to wait until next year.
