Running Man Nebula

In case you haven’t noticed, zoom in next to those three stars in a row and you’ll see an image of a man’s head facing to the left in the image. And when you look at the whole image from a distance, I see two huge, dark eyes, a dark nose, and a twisted mouth. A very morbid looking image of a person’s face.

This was just an experiment. It is a stack of 100 images in a range of exposures from 1s to 16s - all at once. The original raw images are extremely grainy. I don't know why I'm not getting color in this. ASTAP says the Bayer pattern is BGGR, but when I use RGGB is see a little more color. The first version was processed with RGGB. I need to process with BGGR to see if there's any real difference.

The third and fourth versions were processed with GRBG - finally got color. In addition, the third version is a stack of 40 frames at 10 seconds each, and the fourth version is a stack of 40 frames at 20 seconds each. All preprocessing done with PixInsight and final processing done with Affinity Photo and Luminar AI. Affinity Photo is super for denoise.

Description: This version contains Bias frames and Cosmetic Correction applied in preprocessing with PixInsight WeightedBatchPreprocessing.
Final touch-up done first with Affinity Photo and then with Luminar AI.
Adding the Bias frames and including Cosmetic Correction reduced the number of artifacts, especially in eliminating cold pixel artifacts.
