Description

My first attempt at CED111 with the RC12, having initially imaged it at 550mm focal length. https://www.astrobin.com/full/uvgsed/E/

The longer focal length brings out more detail in the nebulae buried in the molecular cloud complex, and the expense of reduced the contrast of the complex with the background star field.

Nevertheless the nebulae a beautiful and show a wide range in colour.  I tried not to over-saturate, as I find the colours have get beauty in the subtlety.  This also helps bring out the "scattering sheet"  front of HD97046 which reveals itself as a sharp discontinuity in colour, almost as if the image was a badly stitched mosaic.  I still find it remarkable that there are such large-scale almost straight lines exist, but that is the galaxy we live in.
