Description

M 92 is an often overlooked globular cluster in Hercules mainly due to the majestic M 13 Hercules globular cluster, but M 92 is no dwarf and stands on it's own as a spectacular sight in the eyepiece of any telescope.

A bright Moon , a relatively short integration time, and lot's of rejected frames due to poor seeing, but I was keen to see what could be done by selecting only the best 50% of the total frames taken from one night out of three.

Processed  in PixInsight using the GHS script keep the star sizes as small as possible before bloating, especially in the core.

I imaged for three nights, but the seeing was so poor on the subsequent nights, when the subframes were added the whole image lost its definition.  Plenty of time to re-visit this during bright moon periods to see if it can be improved on, especially on the colour depth.

Thanks for looking!
