Description

NGC3198 Galaxy in HaLRGB from Bortle 7/8 backyard

This tiny barred spiral galaxy is faint and small, with about 6 arc minutes across. This 10.3-magnitude galaxy is located in the constellation Ursa Major at a distance of about 48 Million light years. 

19 hours of data were collected through many different nights in March and April 2023. 

Scope: EDGE8, f/10
Individual exposures: L (282x180s), Ha (40x180s), RGB each (20x180s)
Total exposure time ~ 19 hours
Camera: ASI294MM-P (Gain 200)
Filters: Optolong 2" Filters
