Description

2 very different Galaxies in Ursa Major in one frame in HaLRGB.  Bode's Galaxy is a grand design spiral Galaxy 12 million light years from Earth that was discovered by Johann Elert Bode in 1774.  Its neighbor, also discovered by Bode, is known as The Cigar Galaxy and is a similar distance from Earth.  It is a starburst Galaxy, its most notable feature is its large central Hydrogen plume.
