Description

A lot is going on in this dynamic landscape dominated by the open cluster NGC 225 (nickname: Sailboat Cluster).
Located roughly 2,200 light-years from Earth, the young cluster is only 100-150 million years old.
It was discovered by Caroline Herschel in 1783.

The reflection nebula VdB 4 is probably what remains of the original cloud that generated NGC 225.

The background is very interesting with a dark dust lane crossing the field horizontally (north is pointing right here), and giving origin to several classified knots (i.e. LDN 1300).

The data has been recorded during 3 nights (4, 6, 7 October 2022) from my terrace in Vienna (Austria) under Bortle 7 sky.
