Description

This image of M81 and M82 is my second AP-project. First of all, I'm complete amazed with what only 2 hours of data can show in the night sky. I just love galaxies!

I think my star colours and shape has improved compared to my first project (Pleiades, november 2019). The stars are a bit elongated, but I dont mind too much since I'm still working on improving my guiding.

What I dont like is the horizontal green banding, one of them goes right through the galaxies. I was able to hide them somewhat by making the background a tat darker.

I am curious if anyone knows the main cause of the banding and how to solve it. I have used darks and bias frames. Maybe I should have used a lower ISO, I did 1600. Previous image of Pleiades was ISO 800. I tried degreasing and histogram adjustment in PI but that didn't do the trick completely.

Any suggestions are welcome,

Clear skies!
