Description

Another gem in Cepheus

Large emission nebula in the northern part of Cepheus

The bright upper part of the nebula to the left is designated as Cederblad 214.

This whole complex is quite large and designated as Sharpless 171. I couldn't quite fit the whole nebula complex in the field, but I love the dark structure that I was able to capture.

The nebula is about 3000 light years away from us and the younger stars are thought to be only a few million years old.
