Description

This trio of Astrobin Debut Objects is located about 450 million light years away in the constellation of Hercules at a declination of +42 degrees.   The galaxies do not show sign of interaction and are likely many millions of light years apart.

The largest and brightest galaxy of the trio is the lenticular galaxy NGC 6350, at upper left.  This magnitude 14 galaxy spans 1 arc-minute in our apparent view, which corresponds to a Milky Way like diameter of 120,000 light years.

I always enjoy edge-on galaxies such as the middle object, LEDA 91591.  This object has some faint dark void areas interrupting the edge-on structure.

The galaxy with the most interesting structure is NGC 6348, at lower right.  Its mid-region ring appears to be oval in shape, running from upper left to lower right.
