Description

The last galaxy shot of the season I think shot from the back yard with my tandem rig. WO FLT 132 at f7 for luminance and WO FLT 91 at f4.5 for RGB and Ha. I switched to the full focal length of the FLT 132 just to see how much difference it made to the resolution. The FWHM as measured in PI dropped from ~2.75 to 2.3 so about a 16% improvement compared to a 28% increase in focal length which I guess tells me somewhere between 660 mm and 910 mm I'm hitting the limitation of my back yard set up. Interestingly I hadn't seen this gain in previous shots at f7 and 910 mm with the 132 which is why I was shooting at f5 and 660 mm. Also over 8 hours of luminance I felt the signal was more than good enough so I guess I'll shoot at f7 going forward!

I shot some Ha just for the heck of it and I was really pleased with the accents it brought to the galaxies especially the whale.

Anyway here's the exposure data:

Luminance FLT 132 f7 96 by 300 s
RGB FTL 91 at f4.5 24 by 300 s each
Ha FLT 91 at f4.5 12 by 300 s
