My New Portable Astro Rig....Now to get it working!

Description

I currently image with platforms - both based on the IOptron CEM60 mount - one with a William Optics 132mm FLT APO Scope and the other is an Astro-Physics Starfire 130mm. These are both great setups, but they are way too big and heavy for portable operations. So I received permission from my wife to build a smaller right that I can take with me when we go on vacation or visit family for extended periods of time.

I wanted a small refractor that had about a 400mm focal length. And For that I ended up getting the Askar FPA 400 - a quintuplet flat field astrograph.

Then I needed a small and light mount that had a good imaging payload capability. I decided on the new IOptron CEM26.

Add in a focuser and Powerbox Advanced and you have a pretty nice little system that can be packed into a car.

I just got this all together and now have to test it and see how it guides! Fun times ahead...
