Description

SHO with RGB stars. Processed for maximum dramatic effect.

This is my second shot at the Rosette Nebula. The first was one of the first astro-images I ever made 18 months earlier with the RASA8/ASI2600MC combo Rosette. This time it was with the FLT132/ASI2600MM and all the filters - and 18 months of trial-and-error learning (and forums and YouTube tutorials). Quite a difference, but I like them both.

Around 100 total SHO subs was all I could get between rain, clouds and trees. Processed SHO with the Yuan Peng formula and green overcast removed with SCNR in PI. Stars removed in PS with StarExterminator. Final color tweaks in PS mostly with the Camera Raw Filter. Shot 60 subs of 10 second RGB for the stars that were added back in.

The stars on the right edges are a bit egg-shaped. I think that is from the Flat8, as the shape doesn't change regardless of exposure length, so it's not guiding. I need to check with a different flattener.
