Description

Here is Orion's belt, Horsehead Nebula, and the Great Orion Nebula in my first project with the RedCat 51v3. I used my Nikon6ii with the scope guiding on a ZWO AM3. I'm pleased with the result from such a small set.

Both of the primary nebula in this photo had help from several hours of luminance data from previous imaging sessions.

The Horsehead and Flame Nebulas luminance data were imaged with an ASI6200 on an Askar PHQ151 (FL: 1057mm) and the Orion Nebula was imaged with the ASI6200 on an Askar FRA600 (FL: 600mm).

Special thanks to my daughter who helped edit in post processing.

Description: I really like some elements of this image though there were some glaring flaws that keep me coming back to edit it. Here's the latest where I've omitted overlaying Orion and Horsehead images from other scopes and stuck with only the Redcat51 + Nikon z6ii images. M42 turned out better this way I think while the area over the Horsehead nebula is perhaps not as good.

I tried to keep some of the more prominent stars the same size through a series of masks while shrinking the rest of the stars to give some depth to the image.

There was a significant magenta-colored artifact all along the right edge of the image which was cropped out.

If you have some notes on the image you'd be willing to share, I'd love to hear them!
