Description

I had to collect a lot of data on this one to overcome the light pollution since I shot this at home. This was originally a test to see what good data from a light polluted backyard would compare to bad data from a dark sky site (Bortle 7 versus Bortle 4). I had one night at the dark site and the seeing wasn't that great. I suspect high clouds. The winner was the good data from home, despite me having to use a darker background to overcome some of the gradients.  But of course, shooting at home meant collecting more data to overcome the light pollution. But shooting from home is easy as pressing a button (most of the time)! I now use shorter RGB shots to get better star color and it's been working.
