@Scott Hall for his guiding tips on my NYX-101. My total guiding error dropped from just around 1' to 0.67" on last nights imaging session. Thats a big improvement. On the downside, for some strange reason meridian flip didn't work. I need to RTFM a little more. I'm suspecting that parameters, in this case the delay I set on meridian limits may have not been stored properly or it was reset when I connected the NYX to the Unity app before I started my session. Meh, this is how we all learn. I still got 40 decent subs to make an image. This one came out pretty nice. I'd not heard of this object before but it was a happy find when I was looking over Stellarium for a target for last nights testing.
Was having a different issue with Phd2 last night and the night before too. Guiding was going great and very randomly it would lose a star. Last night was very clear, no clouds as was the previous night so it's not that nor airplanes. I looked at the subs. I'm using 1 sec guide exposures on my ASI290MM Mini. Gain is set at 70, which should be ok. Perhaps I need to boost that just a little. I know focus was fine as I looked at that before starting my session.
Time to spend the rest of today digging into the NINA and Phd2 logs to see what I can fine. Well, the fun is in the journey and in Astrophotography, there is no real destination and the journey is everything!
