Description

The galaxy M88, also known as NGC 4501, is a spiral galaxy in the constellation of Com Berenice. It is one of the brightest galaxies in its group, the M88 group, which is part of the Virgo supercluster.
M88 has well-defined spiral arms and a bright central region. Its structure has been studied to better understand the formation and evolution of spiral galaxies.
It has also been closely observed to detect possible supernovae, which are events of great interest for understanding the life cycle of stars within galaxies.
In addition, due to the expansion of the Universe, the M88 galaxy is receding from Earth at a rate of about 1'200 kilometres per second.
Its distance from Earth is estimated to be about 50 million light-years.

I took this picture between days of clouds and the moon...nothing special, but I needed to do something
