Description

M106 from my backyard observatory under Bortle 9 sky. The moon had started to show too. It's always difficult to get rid of the gradient, but I like the result. If you squint your eyes, you might be able to make the faint outer arms, and I like how the core "pops". I am impressed how well the C8 Edge HD (at F/7 with the Celestron reducer) works with the ASI294MC on the Rainbow mount. Also the ASIAIR Plus simplified my capture process. Amazing to see how they capture the light that emanated 25 million years ago or so. It's also amazing that the processing tools allow to extract the image from all the bad light (pollution) captured at the same time. This may be my last Galaxy image of this season. Weather has been challenging, but still. Managed to get one or two images. Enjoy!
