Description

Presenting The Rosette Nebula with the Open Cluster NGC 2244 - First Light with my new scope, a modified Skywatcher Newtonian 150/750 PDS. Due to the lack of clear nights the Integration Time is only about 5 hrs, taken in two nights in February 2023.

The Rosette Nebula (or Caldwell 49) a H-II-region located in the constallation Monocerus. It is 5,200 ly away. In the centre of the nebula a young open star cluster (NGC 2244 or Caldwell 50) is embedded. The hot young stars of the cluster were formed from the nebula’s material in the last 5 million years.

I hope you enjoy my First Light. Comments are always appreciated.
