Description

Murphy has just been working way to much overtime lately.  So I've been testing out some different configurations on where to best put a guide scope with my 4" Vixen ED103S refractor.  It currently is sharing my EQ6R-Pro mount with my Lunt LS80MT.  I'm getting a Pegasus NYX-101 SW mount for this pier as I will be placing the EQ6R on a dolly/tripod setup for my grandson with my old Meade 10" f/6.3 LX200 OTA.  So I'm testing the mount as well as trying to optimize my Vixen.  I picked M13 as a nice reliable target for practice.  I won't bore everyone with the details but the best laid plans as they say.... Anyway I managed to get a respectable image of M13 and after I got the proper calibration frames I put this shot together.

I really like globular clusters.  I need to practice more with them.  This one is still a tad too over exposed. I started with 120s subs but had some other issues that basically ruined those shots so when I fixed the issue causing that problem I raised my subs to 240s.  That's clearly too much for this object.  I'll try again when the dust settles and I get the NYX mount.

Enjoy!
