Description

M101 or Pinwheel galaxy is an spiral face-on galaxy in Ursa Major constellation, 21 million light-years away Milky Way. It has a diameter near double than our galaxy and is one of the largest surrounding us.  In the wide field showed in the photo there are many other galaxies. It is interesting to see its relationship with NGC5422 (edge-on galaxy) and NGC5474 (face-on galaxy), where M101 is situated near the middle of the line that join these three galaxies.
