IC5070, Pelican Nebula, with noise. I'm perplexed as to the source of this noise. There were a few uncommon factors when capturing this image:
1. Surprisingly warm - 78 F.
2. Camera was not able to keep 14 F, and was running at 100%. Not far off, but 15.x F. It was cooler at 10:00 PM, (70 ish), but warmed as the night progressed. Stopping shooting at 12:30, temp was 78 F.
3. I was running the dew heaters, but at low setting (35%)
4. The camera sensor anti dew was ON
5. Unfortunately, I did not take darks. Have not needed them so far. Perhaps now I do:-(
6. I now dither with every shot.
7. I did "blink", and the noise can be seen (very faint) in the light images.
8. No sign of the noise in either the bias or flats.
9. Guiding was great, Focus was very good, PA was very good.

I do plan to take some darks tomorrow. Temp profile between 10:00 AM and 11:30 AM is similar to Thursday night.

Description: Really, just confirmation that noise is not from sensor, but more likely something to do with light from Denab (just out of the frame, in direction of the noise).
Also, a bit more aggressive with saturation and color:-)

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status. This requirement, in addition to anonymization of images and distribution to only a subset of them, prevents biases and ensures that the best images are selected.
Promotions by Reviewers When 3 distinct Reviewers promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for IOTD status.
Early dismissal Staff members have a lot of images to inspect on a daily basis, and they can dismiss images if they believe they don't meet the requirements for IOTD/TP selection. If an image is dismissed 5 times, it's removed from the process. This streamlines the process and ensures that any bias present in promotions could be overruled by other staff members.
