Description

Because it's essentially a southern hemisphere object, I guess I've come to think of Omega Centauri as the holy grail of astrophotography. If you can get it at 7 degrees over the horizon, you're doing great, and it's only up for barely two hours. Still, I try. But sometimes I wonder why I invest so many hours when I know I'll never get a great shot of it sitting in all that atmospheric muck. Anyway, I did. I did last May, too, and this is better than that, so that's something. The reason I didn't fill out acquisition details is because I honestly lost track of what made it into the final version. I took about 30 at 30 seconds and about another 30 at 180. I also got a few at 300 seconds which were basically crap. Did I mention this one is tricky at my latitude? If nothing else, I'd like to think I get effort points.

(I should have mentioned that my one advantage here was that I took this out at my dark sky property, about a Bortle 2.)
