The timing of this thread is perfect as I just jumped on to see LRGB images captured during a full moon. I'm in the process of capturing widefield data on the cocoon nebula with close to a full moon in the sky. I was concerned that I was wasting my time as there is a very noticeable light gradient in the subs using a ASI2600MM with an f4 set-up. I'm concurrently running a C9.25 at f2 with a ASI2600MC using only an Optolong L-Pro filter, same gradient can be seen in the the subs. The issue for me is living in the Midwest with not many nights a good seeing, thus I need to take advantage of any clear night I can get, moon or not. I'll post the results of my efforts when I get them processed. I would really love to see people comment on their gradient/light pollution removal techniques, perhaps more than just, "I use DBE in Pixinsight". Settings would be nice to understand. Chris, Thanks for posting this topic! I fear no moon Jeff |
