SH2 101 - The Tulip Nebula, Cygnus X-1 bow shock as well as a ton of other LDN and LBN nebulae

The Tulip Nebula is a great target that I wanted to image again. However the area around it turned out to be as interesting or why not - even more interesting.

The area is full of fascinating cloud structures and formations. I even found a PN in the image - PN - G073.0+03.6.

What is even more interesting for me is that I managed to capture the Cygnus X-1 bow shock. It is believed that this bow shock or bubble is created by the relativistic jet that is emanating from a black hole which is interacting with the star HD226868. I can only say "WOW". And all this from my terrace in the city.

Also - on the right there is actually a Supernova Remnant in the image - the whispy matter that resembles the structures of the Veil Nebula is catalogued as SNR G070.5+01.9.

Right in the middle between the Tulip and the SNR - there is another interesting patch of space. This is catalogued as a Planetary Nebula under PN G070.9+02.2.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status.
