Description

The Ghost Nebula (designated Sh2-136, VdB 141) is a reflection nebula located in the constellation Cepheus.  It lies near the cluster NGC 7023.

Looking at my image he nebula's name is easily understood. The Ghost Nebula is referred to as a globule (catalogued CB230) and over 2 light-years across.  Several stars are embedded in the nebula. Their light gives it a ghoulish brown color.

I imaged this from my driveway in a bortle 4 western North Carolina sky using APT for image acquisition with a GSO RC8 scope and an ASI071MC pro camera cooled to 20f, riding a SW EQ6r Pro Mount.
