Sh2-188 Planetary Nebula "Brushstroke" (with starless ghost track)

Sh2-188 is a planetary nebula in Cassiopeia.

Although included in the Sharpless Catalog, it is actually a planetary nebula, located at a distance of 218 parsecs (711 light years) from the Solar System. It appears as a well marked envelope on the south-eastern side while it seems to have already dissolved on the western one.
Based on its speed of expansion, an age of about 7500 years has been determined. Although its appearance resembles a supernova remnant, this possibility has been ruled out due to the nature of its emissions.
