Galaxie NGC7184 in Aquarius

This bright spiral galaxy in Aquarius is located 121 million light years away. It was discovered by William Herschel on 28 october 1783 and was one of the first deep sky objects recorded in Herschel systematic sweeps of heavens in search of the nebulae (1783-1802). The core is surrounded by a bright ring of overlapping spiral arms and the outer arms are broader with knotty condensations (hardly visible on this picture). It is classified as type SB(r)c in the De Vaucouleurs classification system and its angular size is 6.0'x1.3'.
The other galaxy visible on the upper right part of the picture is PGC 67893 (ESO 601-7). Its angular size (large axis) is 1.62'
