Description

Let galaxy season begin! Okay, Orion is still up, but the galaxies of Leo are beginning to swing into view for those of us in the northern hemisphere. And one of the westernmost of these bright galaxies is NGC2903. It is well positioned right now and for the next few months. It is a fine barred spiral that is very bright, so you won’t have any trouble with it, as long as you have a reasonably long focal length. The small background galaxy visible just above it in this images is 18th-magnitude UGC5086.
