Description

Today was supposed to be the launch of a space rocket, which we were trying to find a good photography location for. We were driving in a stress as we realized the times were in Finnish and since we are now in Norway that means we are one hour behind. So instead of having one hour and 15 minutes to find a spot, we only had 15.
Turns out the launch was cancelled at the last moment and the roads were so small you couldn't just turn around and return to hotel, but had to drive the for a hour until you reach the big road. I was checking the aurora activity as well as the all-sky cameras of certain locations in the north. Nothing was to be seen. The activity was just that low.

As we reach hotel I check the all-sky cameras for the millionth time and see faint arcs on them. The sky in our location was clear, so we decided to give the auroras a try. We headed to a nearby beach as it had a proper parking lot, though it required an entry fee of $5. We were waiting 3 hours in a cold sea breeze with 99% of time nothing interesting happening in the sky, but luckily the wait was rewarded with a decent show of a few minutes.
