Description

Extremely good seeing and transparency allowed me to increase the magnification of the C8 with a Barlow. With the native focal length of a C8 of 2000 mm and the small 2.4 micron pixelsize of an ASI178 a magnification factor around 1.5 would be optimal. The smallest craters have diameters around 1 km and this corresponds to the theoretically expected (Dawes) resolution of 0.54". The numerous small craterlets on the floor of Archimedes prove that the conditions were perfect and the use of the Barlow was justified.

Baader Q-Barlow 2.0x effectively.
Gain 220 and 9 ms frames. 500 out of 1000 frames have been stacked with AS!3. The resulting TIF  has been processed with Registax6 wavelets. Balanced with Adobe PS CS2 and mildly sharpened with Topaz Sharpen AI.
