Description

Now that the clouds have rolled back in, I figured it was time to process my recent data of NGC7822.

After an initial look at the results with auto-stretch, I thought it looked a bit boring so figured I would try to create a Hubble palette HOO instead.

I wasn't sure about the framing as the individual frames came off the camera, but in the end I think it turned out nice with the faint nebulosity around it and especially the arrow-like structure in the lower left corner of the image.  I think HOO really helped to highlight some of the smaller structures in the core of the nebula itself.

Stars were processed separately (not HOO) and re-combined at the end.

Stars:
Repaired HSV Separation Utility script
Arcsinh Stretch Interations
Color Saturation

Starless:
CreateHubblePaletteFromOSC (HOO) Toolbox Script
NXT
BXT (Had to reduce intensity from 90 down to 35 to keep it from exaggerating the dark areas in the middle of the target)
GHS  Iterations, including linear black point adjustments
Curves Adjustment for minor intensity and saturation adjustments

Recombined with PixelMath: ~((~NGC7822_Starless)*(~star_mask))
