Description

NGC 2237, also known as the Rosette Nebula, is a large, circular H II region located in the constellation Monoceros. It is a region of active star formation, and the hot, young stars in the cluster within the nebula ionize the surrounding hydrogen gas, causing it to emit the characteristic red glow seen in many nebulae.
